Access controls & usage limits

Organization owners and admins can restrict who can use AI features, disable specific capabilities, and set daily usage caps per role. All controls are in Settings → AI.

These controls sit on top of the role system: roles decide who can edit data, while the settings on this page decide who can spend AI usage and which AI capabilities are switched on for the organization.

Chat access by role

By default every member can use the chat assistant. Uncheck a role to disable chat for those members. Members whose role is not checked see a notice in the chat panel instead of the input field, and the server rejects any messages they attempt to send.

Feature availability

Each toggle corresponds to an AI feature included in your plan tier. You can turn features off but not on beyond what your plan provides. Disabling a feature removes it from the UI and blocks API access for all members of your organization.

Daily usage limits

Set per-role caps on how many chat messages and AI feature calls a member can make per day. Leave a field blank for unlimited.

ColumnWhat it caps
Daily chatChat assistant messages per day
Daily AIAI feature calls (Go/No-Go, RFP analysis, intelligence, etc.) per day

When a member hits their limit, the next request returns a friendly error and they are told to contact their admin. Daily limits count usage per calendar day (UTC) and reset at midnight UTC.

Rate limiting

In addition to daily caps, every user is subject to an hourly rate limit:

ScopeLimit
Chat messages60 per hour
AI feature calls (Go/No-Go, RFP, intelligence, capability match, deep dive)20 per hour

These are automatic and not configurable. They protect against accidental runaway usage and apply equally to all roles. Both the chat endpoint and every AI feature action enforce these limits. The window is a sliding hour, so capacity frees up gradually rather than all at once — if you hit the limit, waiting a few minutes is usually enough.
